In, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, two young cross-star lovers experience through a lot of things that in the end ended their lives. Romeo fell in love with the wrong person, Juliet. She’s a Capulet and he’s a Montague. The Capulet and Montague hated each other, and for that, they can never be together. Through many secret meetings, and a secret marriage, Romeo and Juliet ended unsuccessfully, but who really is it to blame? Romeo’s impulsiveness leads to Juliet and his tragic death.

       Romeo fell in love with Juliet at his first sight. And if that’s not the worst Juliet returns his feelings as well, and they arranged themselves to get marry at Friar Lawrence’s cell. Romeo said, “Ah, Juliet, if the measure of thy joy/ Be leap’d like mine and that thy skill be more…” (2.6.24-25). This shows that Romeo love Juliet because he is referring her as his happiness and joy. Clearly Romeo did not think twice about the hate between their families and what will happen if their family figured out that they were marry secretly. Before Romeo and Juliet were marriage, Friar Lawrence tried to make Romeo reconsider his marriage with Juliet, “These violent delights have violent ends” (2.6.9). However, instead of taking in and reconsidering their marriage, Romeo did not care because he is too in love with Juliet. Romeo falls in love too quickly.

       Another unfortunate mistake that Romeo makes is that he kills Tybalt as a result of Mercutio’s death. Tybalt kills Mercutio on the streets of Verona in a fight. Romeo in return seeks revenge for Mercutio by killing Tybalt. Romeo declared, “Staying for thine to keep him company/ Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him” (3.1.133-134). Romeo is angry and he wanted Tyablt to die. Afterwards, Romeo found out that Tybalt is Juliet’s cousin, “O, I am Fortune’s fool!” he said to himself (3.1.143). He had killed his wife’s cousin. Now he will be banished and Juliet will be mad at him. Romeo doesn’t think before he acts.

       In the end, Romeo kills himself not knowing that Juliet will wake up after 48 hours, which can be concluded as his final mistake that ended his life. “Then I defy you, stars” he said (5.1.25). Romeo feels sad and depressed that his lover is dead. He is overly passionate with his love for Juliet that he will die with her, “Well, Juliet, I will lie with thee tonight” (5.1.37). After this, Juliet wakes up, finds Romeo dead by her side, and kills herself; in which ended their lives altogether.  If only Romeo had waited one more moment before drinking the poison, Friar Lawrence would have come and told him the truth and he would’ve save his life as well as Juliet’s. Romeo is too into his love for Juliet that when she dies, he dies too.

       Romeo’s impulsiveness leads to Juliet and his tragic death. If Romeo had thought about things before he acts, maybe they wouldn’t die in the end. Romeo and Juliet’s tragic death shows the readers that we should think before we act and that our actions may affect others individually and as a whole.
